Literature Text

The strikers had entered the hospital. The cop, Karl Mog was helping O’Mally walk while Kito, Connor, and I were fighting them. I could see them through the walls, so I used it to assist Kito with his shooting… these strikers were using smoke to great effect.
“There they are!” One yelled, I first had the impulse to start bloodbending but I suppressed it, as I pointed Kito’s aiming. I looked back for a moment, worried about Daq, but I knew I couldn’t do anything for him, if he was prepared to die.
Connor was leading, using his bending impressively… he seemed very focused on his fighting, different from our missions together… he seemed more vicious, angry.
I watched as he immediately kicked down a striker, and then kicked harshly into him, pushing him into a group of his friends. I grabbed for the smoke, turning it back into water as I whipped a man… Kito continued firing arrow after arrow.
“How do we get out of here?” I then asked, “They obviously took the front door!” Kito scowled.
“I think there was a back entrance on the first floor… we could also try jumping out a window.”
“That doesn’t sound fun.” O’Mally replied, still very loopy.
“No, it doesn’t.” a voice then replied, I then noticed someone through the smoke… my eyes widened, realizing it was my aunt standing infront of us… in a winter cloak with waterbender soldiers all around her. We cringed, eying her, I found myself frowning.
Great… her.

MEANWHILE
KOKORO POV

I was silent, lying there weakly from being thrown into a door frame. Strikers were overlooking me, muttering to each other.
“So why does Lady Sonya want her?” They had been inside this building for five minutes and had control of most of the floor.
“Something about a bargaining chip… let’s just get her out of here.” I scowled as one was about to grab for my hand, when suddenly they heard footsteps… And then suddenly my eyes widened as a figure cloaked in white immediately slammed a fist into a striker’s face, before kicking another down and tasing another. I leaned at the wall, staring.
“You….” The Phantom stood there, as she always did… saving my ass again. For some reason she didn’t seem one bit surprised to see me. This woman tried to kill me in her apartment…
She simply blinked, regarding me… before turning away towards the hallway, I slowly got up, scowling as I followed.
“Say something, Yuri!” I yelled, she tunred and I quickly gripped nearby melted water, throwing icicles at her, when she simply evaded and tripped me… staring down at me.
“…” she paused, looking me straight into the eyes, “You survived… good.” Immediately her fist smacked the top of my brow. The force was so strong I passed out, feeling her drag me towards the door and setting me down. “But I don’t need you here, Kokoro.” She left, while I cursed myself, angry.
She was here to get Kara.

MEANWHILE
TOORU POV

I was beside grandma Akira, helping her move more quickly as the strikers pursued us. The nonbenders of the family remained in the center while Lufi, Mika, Joshua, Cecil, and Maka were on the counter attack, using their waterbending to protect us. We had to ditch the other cars because of the lack of space, so we were running into an alleyway.
“Wow,” I muttered, Kana eyed me, “We’re like a small gang.” The grandma smiled.
“I’ve known that for years… it helps whenever I need to move furniture around.”
I watched as Mika and the others swiftly created another shield of ice, to immediately blast more and more icicles down towards our pursuers. Ryuu had handed the bin off to Meme so he and Mika’s mom could punch through any strikers attacking our front…
Aimee’s mom was a crazy good fighter, I had only seen her fight once before this and I was surprised… no wonder Aimee hid that she was running away from her mom, she could probably shoot down the bison.
We made it into the alleyway, with Feiko turning as we reached a fork in the wall.
“Which way now?” Ryuu scowled.
“I dunno, I’m all turned around here”-
“We take a left.” Maka directed, we turned, “Then we keep going forward.”
“Yes mam!” Ryuu replied, we went in that direction, while I eyed Maka a little… she was a decent leader(I shouldn’t say decent, she’s better than me), very confrontational, but also cool under pressure. As we kept going we glanced up to see strikers appearing on top of the building… they looked like pros, different from the ones we fought before.
“Those are the ones Lady Sonya mentioned!”
“After them!” We watched as they each jumped, creating ice picks to stab into the wall before barreling down towards us. Instantly Maka pushed forward and raised snow up to grip and throw them off. A few others did land, so I immediately ducked the grandmother out from under a slash and kicked down, raising thin pillar to ruin the bender’s stance. Mika immediately fired water forward, freezing him into the wall. We were moving faster, as I helped stop Kana from falling while the waterbenders attacked. I swiftly lead the grandmother out of danger while Maka and the others cleaned up. Ryuu eyed them, as all the benders panted.
“These guys are tougher than the normal strikers.” Mika turned.
“They mentioned something about ‘Lady Sonya’.” Ryuu quickly stepped on one, beckoning for information while grandma Kana scowled.
“What’s this all about?”
“After the lady’s assault by that bloodbender, Blood put many of us in service to her…” Ryuu then raised an eyebrow.
“The way you fight… how is that?”
“I’m not telling”- Ryuu kicked him, Mika turned.
“Ryuu!”
“It’s that old man, he… he made us better at this.”
“Silas…” Ryuu whispered.
“You don’t stand a chance.” The waterbender replied, Ryuu scowled, we kept moving, as more went after us.
We were getting close now.

MEANWHILE
KARA POV

”So what Silas said was true… that he wiped my memory.”
“I would know, I was there.” Sonya replied, as she backed into her room while I had my hands raised, convinced I would bloodbend her if she gave me any trouble… “’Kara’.” She replied, rolling her eyes,
“So then… then Kal was there.”
“He was… Kal was more than likely the best of the bunch, not arrogant like Akem, but not dismissive like Beck and Oren… and not a betraying sociopath like Maya.”
“She was your friend… right?”
“Until she wasn’t,” Sonya replied, taking a few steps, “She was afraid of me, and my family’s power, so she turned your mother against me and the rest of our family… in what fowl swoop she wiped us out… only Kanan, Iris and I survived, but now it’s just me.”
“But then you… you killed Mona,” I replied, “My mother.”
“Technically I did kill her… but that was the strangest thing.” I rasied an eyebrow, “She was pregnant, with you… the moment I saw you I knew who you were, but it made me question how it was that your mother could have lived to give birth.”
“So you’re saying… she could still be alive.” Sonya smiled a little, my stance tightened, drawing water from my pouch. “If she is, then… then where is she?”
“You look so much like her, you know? Kalros traits in how you look.” I frowned, “Kinda make sense how Abhik once guessed you were my kid.”
“Don’t avoid the question, where’s my mother?”
“That thing Maya created isn’t fit to be a mother, much less yours… she’s a hollow bastardization of the woman I grew up with. Apart from me, the only family you had died in Compound Alpha.”
“Kal…”
“I would think you’d be furious if you knew where Mona was, seeing how she betrayed you, and handed you off to the white lotus.” I looked away at that, looking at my hands, “To the woman who destroyed our family.”
“Our family…”
“To Maya you’re simply a monster, that’s how every one of them sees you… even Kal.”
“That’s a lie, he… he wouldn’t”-
“He was afraid of you, afraid of what you could do.” I looked up. “I listened in on a conversation between Silas and Nikta… and Silas was rambling on and on about how you were to be some kind of weapon, to change people.” My eyes were wide, “To take away their freedom… that’s the funny thing about Maya, when took away my freedom when I was a bloodbender, she took away yours, and now she wants to take away everyone else’s.”
“How is that… possible?” I then asked.
“It’s because you’re a bloodbender, and your something Silas calls a conduit… a link between the human and spiritual worlds.” I looked away at that, I have been having visions, besides the ones of my previous life, but… of other things, people I had never known… strange glimmers of the past and future, of Sllas, of my mother… and of a girl with light red hair. “Just like subject Zero.”
“…”
“But I think it’s because of something else,” I looked back, eying her, “It’s because you’re a freak… and people like you were never meant to have a life.”
“You’re… you’re wrong.” I replied, “You’re wrong!” Sonya breathed, “I’m going to go out there, find my mother, and we’re gonna… we’re gonna stop you, Abhik, and Maya… we’re, we’re”-
“Sounds like insubordination to me.” I paused, and then suddenly the door was open and suddenly a bottle shattered behind my head, and I fell to the ground, passing out… realizing it was Abhik walking in, “Thanks for the help, dear.”
“What the hell happened to sixteen?”
“She knows everything now… it’s a malfunction.”

My eyes were wide open as Sonya stood there in front of us with a knife in her hand.
“Abhik sent you!?” Connor asked, glaring.
“Good to see you too, rat.” She replied, “Now if you could be so kind as to return my niece and prepare for your executions, and we can all be done with this.”
“Sounds good to me!” O’Mally gargled, Kito pouted.
“Shut up.” He whispered. Mog’s eyes widened, staring at Sonya.
“So you’re um… you’re Sonya Kalros!”
“Yes, that’s my name… you afraid or something?””
“You’re so… so…” he looked fearful, “Er beautiful”- I groaned.
“What?” I frowned. Sonya laughed like this was the funniest thing she heard all day.
“Why thank you. I just might let you live for that comment.” Immediately I scowled while Connor swiftly shot three stray shots of fire towards Sonya, the waterbenders immediately blocked it with sudden sheets of ice… they were about to fire water towards us when I immediately gripped the water, slashing it towards them, freezing them to the wall. At this point Connor had gotten close to Sonya, trying to hit her with fire, while she avoided. “You seem all flustered, ‘Ghost’ was it something I said?”
“Shut up!” he snarled, I joined into the fight, but it was no good as Sonya kicked me down, swiftly cutting at Connor’s ankle. Immediately I gripped the water on the floor, snapping it forward towards Sonya’s knife, freezing it around it. She scowled.
“I guess I was a good teacher than”-
“You taught me nothing!” Connor was about to attack, but Sonya slammed the ice I had created into him, throwing me to the ground in the process as the ice shattered. Immediately I turned to see Kito firing arrows from his bow into Sonya, she evaded the arrows with a sneer. O’Mally stared, not sure what to do while Mog simply pulled out his taser. What I wasn’t expect to see was Mog closing the distance between myself and him and jabbing it into Connor’s back. My eyes widened at this, while Connor hit the ground, fidgeting and unable to move.

CONNOR POV

I couldn’t believe this, that Mog guy attacking me. I tried to move but I couldn’t, it was just like when Kokoro did it. I stared at Mog, surprised, while he sighed.
“That should make things easier.”
“What?”
“You did good,” Sonya then replied, “Now for the girl”- Kito scowled, immediately pointing his bow towards the cop.
“What the hell? I thought you were”-
“And I thought you were a striker, strange world.” Mog then replied, “but I know who’s come out on top and I’d rather be on the winning team.”
“So all that time as Kokoro’s partner,” I replied, “that was a lie?”
“…Who’s Kokoro?” It was then I watched as Mog pressed the taser to O’Mally’s side, he fell to the ground, passed out, and then aiming the weapon at Kara. Sonya was silent, having known about this betrayal.
Suddenly it made sense, why this guy was so useless… he was sent here to assist in taking us out.
“You’re… you’re supposed to be a cop.” Kara replied, “You’re supposed to help people.”
“So was Yuri… and all she ever did was shoot us in the foot… if the strikers are on the winnings of this fight than I want in.”
“Very eloquent, Mog.” Sonya replied, while I snarled. Kito still had the bow, aimed at Mog. “Now put that down and we can get on with this.”
“No way!” Kito then replied,
“Keep it on him!” Kara added, “Sonya can’t hurt us, I can bloodbend her!” I threatened, hands stretched.
“bloodbend? Don’t make me laugh… you might have done it to Abhik, but you’re not prepared to do it here.”
“Kara…” I muttered, while she shook. I could barely move, while O’Mally was on the ground as well, and Kito had maybe two arrows left. It was then I turned, seeing someone approaching us, a figure garbed in white… with a katana in hand. Sonya then turned, seeing the weapon facing her.
“Hey sis, I wondered when you’d show up.”
“Sis?” Kara then asked, curious while I laid there, unable to move. “What do you”-
“Like I told you, Kara… a hollow bastardization.” Kara turned, eying her supposed mother.
I couldn’t believe any of this.
“Kara, take Kito and run!” I yelled, Mog stood there, confused with an arrow still focused on him.
“Kara we should”-
“You’re my mother?” Kara then asked, confused, staring at the woman. It was then I watched the Phantom’s stance weaken… I couldn’t believe this.
Did Silas know about her? That the Phantom was Kara’s mom?
“Kara…” She replied, I tried to move but couldn’t.
“That’s the woman that betrayed you Kara… that gave you away, the entire reason she survived was because she was pregnant with you.” Sonya replied, the Phantom frowned. “It’s a regular family reunion.” I noticed she was getting the knife free, preparing to attack, but I wasn’t sure who, the Phantom… or Kara.
“Kara’s done nothing to you,” the Phantom replied, “Take your anger somewhere else.” Her voice sounded feminine now that I noticed, but also somewhat mechanic.
“My anger?” Sonya asked, “I was betrayed by three people, you, Maya, and Uroq… and since Uroq is dead, I have no choice but to take my anger out on the only person here that had betrayed me.” She was aiming the knife, while Mog held his taser towards Kara…
“If you hurt her,” the woman replied, eying Mog, “I will tear you apart.” Mog cowered at that. “Karl.”
“How do you know my name?”
“Doesn’t matter.” She looked back to Sonya, “You have every right to be angry with me… but taking it out on Kara isn’t the way to go, especially if your new boyfriend wants her.”
“I couldn’t care what Abhik wants.” Sonya stated. I eyed Kito for a moment, we locked eyes quietly, as he remained focused on Mog. “If killing this girl hurts you… than that’s all I want.”
“That girl didn’t take your bending, she didn’t imprison you,”
“Right… you did that, Mona.” I quickly found myself regaining control of my limbs, I could move my arms, Kara looked fearful, unsure what the hell to do. “At this rate I should kill the both of you.”
“Sonya…” the tall figure replied, “Let it go.”
“…” The black haired woman scowled at this, she looked powerless.
“Kito!” I yelled, “Take Kara and run!” Immediately Sonya kicked me hard, I shook, rolling over. The phantom scowled at this, holding some sort of rope in her hand, bolas. Kara looked to the side, noticing Mog still had the taser.

KITO POV

I froze, staring at the group, bow stretched. I had to keep looking back to eye Sonya and her sister, while also focus the bow at Mog… if I turned once, Mog could take out Kara, and then me…
We’d all get captured, even if the Phantom intervened.
Connor was yelling at me, to take Kara and run, but I kept looking down, seeing O’Mally on the ground…
I was not going to abandon him.
“ALL OF YOU SHUT UP!” I yelled, losing my temper. Sonya scowled at my defiance like the Phantom eyed me like I was a moron. “There’s only one way this will end, so Sonya stand down or I put an arrow in him!” I directed to Mog, Sonya practically grinned.
“I couldn’t care less about that police traitor.” I glanced to Kara… she looked so afraid, backed into a corner… she was in no place to bloodbend, not like how I heard. It was then… I slowly made a decision, my fingers began to tremble on the draw string of my bow, as I released an arrow towards Mog. Time seemed to slow down as the arrow went towards him, but as I turned, I watched the knife being thrown… towards Kara.
I swiftly pushed forward, not sure what to do, immediately I pushed her out of the way, pausing at a strange feeling, a sharp long lasting pain was entering my back. I cringed at the feeling, watching as the arrow I shot had hit it’s target, into Mog’s stomach. He gasped in pain, faling down, while I quickly slid out the other arrow in my pouch, turning to aim it towards Sonya, slowly weakening… I was about to fire the arrow, but then the pain overtook me… as my hands fidgeted, and I hit the ground… watching as Kara shook, tears forming in her eyes. Connor eyed me while I laid there, the pain was too great.
It was then as Sonya was about to continue towards Kara, and the Phantom going towards her ‘daughter’… the girl shot her hands forward, and immediately the two were thrown across the hallway like ragdolls. Kara shook, looking over us, tears openly falling from her face. She was looking at my back, and immediately knew what was wrong.
I wasn’t going to make it.
Kara began to run, escaping the hospital while we couldn’t do anything but watch.

MEANWHILE
MIKA POV

We were powering through the strikers, staying together as a group as we were approaching city hall, roughly a few blocks away.
Things weren’t looking good, many of us had grown tired, I was probably the only bender left who really had any energy. My aunt Maka seemed to be struggling, as were Lufi and Joshua. We were out of the alleyway and into the street, where all traffic had stopped and more and more strikers were attacking… we couldn’t keep up.
My mother shot another charge of lightning into more strikers, before stopping and breathing heavily… exasperated.
“Can you do any more?” Ryuu asked, the woman sighed.
“At this rate I’ll be putting myself in danger… I’m out of chi.” She replied, Maka frowned.
“Yeah, me too…” It was then we noticed among our pursuers was a woman with a bow and arrow, Ryuu frowned, noticing this.
“Nikta… so she’s leading the charge.” I turned.
“That archer Aria talked about?”
“Yeah… Abhik’s right hand ma-woman… she’s really fast.” I frowned.
“So we need to take her out, some way some how.” We cringed as an arrow narrowly missed Meme, causing my uncle to run faster. Tooru quickly handed Kana off to Manu, when we finally stopped, with Tooru creating an earthen barrier. Everyone calmed down, sitting down and leaning on the wall with Tooru monitoring our position.
“Okay how far are we?” he swiftly asked, we turned.
“Maybe like a few blocks,” Manu replied, “Aimee and the task force are there, so they’ll probably be around to help, but with that archer I really doubt our chances.”
“So you’re saying is… we need more time.” Tooru added, I sighed.
“I’m good to go, you guys can keep going and”-
“We’re not going without you,” my mother replied, I turned, frowning, “Family… remember?”
“Well,” Ryuu replied, “We can’t just sit here, eventually they’re gonna find us, and catch one of us, and I for one am not staying behind.” My mom raised an annoyed eyebrow at that, “What… if they catch me they will kill me, while they’ll just use you guys as bait.”
“Clever…” Makario replied, “So they want bait, and we’re not in the mood to give that.” Tooru then shrugged.
“I don’t even know what I count as.” My mom then turned, scowling.
“I think I could maybe pull off a few more shots.” She stated, I turned.
“Mom, do you wanna get yourself killed?”
“I am not letting you stay here.” She replied, I scowled. Tooru turned.
“Me neither.”
“So what are you saying?” Maka then asked, my mom sighed.
“I let them catch me, and try to get a shot on that archer, slow everyone down and allow you guys to keep going.”
“That’s crazy!” I complained, my mom turned.
“Mika, your dad is already safe with Sifo and Malena, Aimee is safe… if I can make you safe then”-
“But I”-
“Not buts, I’m doing this.” I frowned, while Tooru sighed.
“…Me too.” We both turned, eying him.

MEANWHILE
PHANTOM POV

My vision was blurry, as I scowled… hating the feeling of being bloodbent. Sonya had gotten up, right beside me, pulling another weapon from her side… pointing it at me.
“Any last words?” I scowled, looking into her azure eyes.
“You’re boyfriend’s gonna lose.” Sonya frowned, about to slash forward when I immediately produced my sword and clashed with it… pushing strongly. Sonya had difficulty comparing herself to my enhanced strength, but she survived, falling back.
“You know, funny how you mention my boyfriend… a reason I came here, was to kill yours”-
“Over my dead body”-
“That was the plan.” She clashed her blade down towards mine, I evaded, ducking under the blow and slashing again. I frowned, realizing she was wearing more protective garments… possibly some sort of chain mail. “You know I ran into your little protégé while I came in here… I bet she’s free now, because of you,” I frowned, “When I kill you, Daq, and your daughter, in that order, she’s next.”
I clashed my blade against her knife again, trying to stab but she was too quick, evading and slicing at my arm. Sonya was too fast for me, it didn’t help my armor was slowing me down. Our blades cracked as we sliced at eachother, with Sonya finding her way into the nearby stairwell.
I reasoned that Sonya being distracted by me was more important than finding Kara. I was convinced I’d kill her… someway somehow. I tried hitting her, but she quickly hurried up the steps, I followed, finding myself on the third floor… and I didn’t see Sonya. The level was dark, with nobody inside.
I began taking a few steps, sliding my sword across the ground, I kept turning my gaze, expecting to see Sonya behind me. Eventually I made my way to a window, looking out to see the winter torn landscape of the northern water tribe.
I looked to see the military fighting Sonya’s strikers.
“You surprised… I could pull this off?” her voice echoed.
“…”
“Impressed, sister?”
“Impressed that you managed to scare an entire populace into obeying your demands?”
“I guess that bloodbender fear is good for something”-
“Bloodbender fear?” I asked, “But you aren’t a blood bender… Cero took it, remember?”
“Yeah… and now I’m like you, a ghost.”
“No… you’re even worse than that… you’re nothing.”
“…”
“Without your bending, you are nothing… part of me is thinking you’re just trying to be relevant again, but that’s the truth. You may hate myself and Maya… but we built ourselves up, while you only built yourself down.”
“Shut up.”
“And now you think targeting my family is going to magically bring back Kanan, or Iris and Keleb and even Koza.”
“Shut up”-
“But they are never coming back. The last of our siblings died in the Shen Jing desert… and when I die, you’ll have nobody… and then you’ll truly be empty.” I sighed, “And that is the worst feeling of all, trust me… I know it well”-
“SHUT UP!” Immediately I turned as she immediately slammed a fist into my brow… she swiftly punched again, my hood fell back as I caught her hand as she tried to slice at me. Immediately she twisted my arma round, and kicked harshly.
The window shattered as I fell out, landing on tiling in the cold air… my sword slipped away onto the a spot close to the edge, Sonya quickly got out, standing over me as she swiftly tried to choke at me, I kicked her off as I watched her knife slip off the roof.
Sonya stared up at me, snarling as she immediately tried to punch at me, clawing at my face… she didn’t have a blade anymore, I had the opening and I then kneed her in the stomach, throwing her down. She fell back, while my hand touched my face, finding bits of blood.
Sonya’s azure eyes were on me… tight and furious.
“You’re the empty one”-
“No I am not,” I replied, “Maya might be a monster, but she gave me a purpose in life, when I’m dead you’ll have nothing… you’ll just be a heartless monster.”
“…” It was then I realized something, her eyes were tear stained.
“You know I’m right.”
“And when Kara dies… where will your meaning be?”
“That’s not going to happen.” I replied. “I refuse to let that happen.” I watched as she grabbed my sword, facing it toward me, uncertain. “You know you can’t win.”
“I may be a monster,” Sonya replied, “But atleast I lost my heart for the right reason…” It was then something became clear to me… how Sonya felt.
I betrayed her, and broke her heart, and with Kanan’s death, all that we ever were was broken.
“You want the world to feel what you feel…” I replied, she blinked.
“Love kills us all.” It was then I was about to brace for another attack, when she simply jumped off of the building, stabbing the blade into wall, and sliding down, reaching the ground… staring at me. Our eyes remained locked, as she turned and swiftly stabbed the blade into a soldier, before cutting down another one, walking away.
I won this round… I wasn’t sure if I’d win the next.

MEANWHILE
TOORU POV

Mika stared at me, eyes full of disbelief.
“Tooru you can’t be serious”-
“I am, I’m an earthbender, if anyone can help your mom slow them down, I can.” The shorter girl frowned at this plan, while I noticed Maka looking away, unsure.
“What about keeping our family together”-
“My sister is a striker,” Sirisha then stated, blankly, I eyed her, confused, “and they know that… they won’t kill me, and I might be able to protect Tooru.”
“Mom…” Mika frowned, hating this plan. Ryuu shook his head.
“There has to be another way.” I frowned.
“No there isn’t… I blow open our defense, punch a way in for you guys and then it’ll be the two of us holding the bulk off… otherwise they’ll catch all of us.” Ryuu stared at me, simply surprised I’d go ahead with this. Mika looked on the verge of crying, unsure how to handle this, so her mom hugged her, patting her on the back.
“It won’t be forever… and besides I think it’s time I see how dedicated your little boyfriend is to protecting you.” Mika blushed at that, while I looked away, awkwardly. “Tell your dad not to worry about me… same for Aimee.”
“But”-
“The way I know your sister, she’ll be after us like nothing.”
“When we get you back,” Mika replied, “If we do”-
“Then we leave, all of us.” Sirisha replied, eying everyone, they all nodded in agreement, I frowned, hands on the walls.
“They’re getting close to breaking through.”
“Then get ready to break it open.” Sirisha replied, I nodded. Everyone was getting ready to run, with Mika eying me, for a moment.
“Tooru… you don’t have to do this.”
“Mika…”
“Just admit it, you’re trying to impress me, just”-
“You know what you said to Shiro… about how we’re like a family, back in Shaylim?” Mika paused, “You and me we’re like family… and that goes the same for the rest of your family, and I’m not gonna let you all get caught.”
“Tooru…”
“…” I sighed, “If I can help than I will, and I”- She leaned up, quickly pressing her lips into mine. I blushed at the sudden feeling, surprised this was actually happening. I leaned in more, eyes awkwardly closing… unsure if this was actually happening.
If I could give one thought as to how the kiss was, I suppose… it felt warm. As quickly as she kissed me, she finally pulled back, eyes on mine… she had a serious look, telling me everything without her saying a single word.
Come back to her.
She stepped away, and I blushed immensely, watching as she rejoined the group that was leaving… her mother eyed me with a slight smirk.
“Never thought I’d get to see Mika’s first kiss… guess that means I better work hard to keep you alive.” I grinned a little. Ryuu looked to me, and I nodded.
“Good luck!” I swiftly pounded down at the barrier from upfront, it to open going forward, right through a group of strikers. We followed the group as we saw more strikers in the street and I immediately kicked up more cement pillars, blasting them into the groups. Sirisha was at my side, arcing fire in multiple directions.
Our friends reached a blockade, and I quickly slammed my feet down, creating a rocky tremor to break it. I smiled a little as I watched Manu physically picking up his grandmother and running through it. Mika paused taking one look at me and her mother, before swiftly continuing to run. I noticed Nikta firing a few arrows towards us before then following the group. Immediately I stepped forward to create more rocky pillars to block her as Sirisha swiftly produced another bolt of electricity into the archer both attacks which she nimbly evaded, kicking off of my pillars to go after Mika. Sirisha scowled.
“Ryuu knows her…” she muttered, kneeling down, “he can handle her.” She looked exasperated, I touched the short woman’s shoulder, frowning.
“You gotta keep going, mom.” It was then Sirisha frowned, eying me despicably… regretting that she was warming up to me (in a joking manner).
“If you call me that ever again, I will personally sabotage my daughter’s love for you.” I frowned, nodding.
“Er… okay mam!” I then turned away, eying the strikers surrounding us, and pulling my hands up… there looked to maybe be a hundred of them, all going towards our friends and family. “So then… I’ll take fifty on the left, and you take fifty on the right”-
“Screw that,” she cursed, “I’m taking fifty-one.” I smiled a little at that.
“That’s the spirit.”
I instantly pulled up cement rocks to fire towards the strikers while Sirisha was producing more fire.

MEANWHILE
CONNOR POV

Sonya and the phantom were gone, having been fighting before leaving the building… this Mona had saved our lives, well… mine and O’Mally’s. I had gained more use of my body, as I edged towards Kito, he wasn’t moving at all… That knife looked to have gotten deep into his back. I tried to pull it out when he simply gasped in pain.
“Sorry…”
“It’s… it’s okay…” Kito replied, it had been maybe twenty minutes since the altercation with Sonya, I had noticed a trail of blood, which I had assumed to be Mog, crawling away. O’Mally slowly came too… staring at Kito, “Hey there bud… how was your rest?”
“Stiff…” O’Mally replied, staring at Kito’s wound, he was going to bleed out. “I… I remember some things, before we got attacked, I… how did this”-
“I took one for the team.” Kito replied, “It was either this, or… or we all get caught.”
“Don’t talk like that,” I replied, eying him, “More will be here soon, we gotta… gotta”-
“And then what?” Kito asked, “Take me to a hospital? A little bit ahead of you, pal.” He chuckled slightly. I smiled a little, unsure of how to handle this, what kind of protocol was required.
When Eron died… I wasn’t with him in his last moments, I was passed out. I found myself looking away, noticing someone in the distance, a girl… unsure what he was looking at.
“Kokoro…” O’Mally and Kito turned and Kokoro hurried to us, eyes widening at the display, she pulled out water to try and heal his back, but it was no use.
“He’s lost too much blood… Connor I can make it less painful but”-
“It’s fine,” Kito replied, Kokoro was silent, she didn’t even know him. “You’re that… police girl, right?”
“…Yeah.” He glanced towards myself and Kokoro, before shrugging.
“Nevermind.” O’Mally was taking this the hardest, staring at our friend.

“Why did you… you…”-
“She was… gonna hurt Kara, I stopped that.”
“Where is Kara?” Kokoro asked, I sighed.
“How about you start looking for her… okay?” Kokoro sighed… she had no clue what had hapenned, but silently accepted this task. “He um also… took out someone, I think you know.” Kokoro turned.
“That bastard cop…” Kito muttered, “Mog.”
“what?” Kokoro’s eyes widened.
“He was a dirty cop,” I replied, “Was delivering us to Sonya.” It was then Kokoro tunred, eying the drips of blood on the floor.
“Karl… that was him?” she seemed to struggle to believe this. Kokoro slowly stepped away, she wasn’t going to intervene here, while O’Mally shook, eying him… frightened and tearing up.
“Kito you can’t just… you can’t”-
“Than you gotta make the most with the time I gave you,” O’Mally chuckled, “Last time I counted… I saved your ass twice.” I was surprised how easily he was taking this…
Dying.
“I just,” he sighed, “I just wanna say I’m sorry, O’Mally… for giving you such a hard time-”
“You don’t need to apologize,” my friend replied… Kito smiled a little.
“You know… I don’t think I ever got your first name.” O’Mally paused, “What was it?”
“…Ethan.”
“Right… well it’s… it’s been good knowing you, Ethan.” He frowned, glancing towards me, “You as well… Connor.” He glanced back to O’Mally, before eying me again.
“You protect him, okay?” obviously referring to O’Mally. “Don’t make my sacrifice in vain, protect her too.”
“You have my word.” I  nodded.
“You… you started this,” he then added, eying me, I paused, “you were the one that went in with Blood to meet Sonya… all of this started with you.”
“Kito…” O’Mally replied, while he shook.
“I hope you damn well finish this… Connor.” I sighed, nodding.
“I do too…” O’Mally then shook, eying his friend.
“This didn’t have to happen.” He replied, “You didn’t have to save you could have”-
“Yeah I did…”
“…Why?”
“Because like you said… I’m your best friend.” It was then I watched Ethan O’Mally as he leaned forward, to hug the dying boy… crying. Kito patted him on the back, exchanging a silent look with me. It was then Kito drew weaker, eying Ethan for a moment. “Goodbye… Ethan.” And like that, the archer lowered weakly, before finally laying down for the last time.
…dead.
I stared at this mortified, while O’Mally continued to weep. I’m sure I felt sad too… but the only I knew I felt, was anger.
Sonya would pay for what she did… Abhik too, I’d make them all pay.

KOKORO POV

I followed the droplets of blood, until finally I discovered it leaning into one of the medical rooms, Mog was lying there, trying to patch himself up, but it was all in vain. He was dying, clearly and ever obviously.
“Keero…” he muttered, placidly, “Or… Kokoro, or whatever you fucking call yourself.” He replied, bitterly. As I stepped in closer, I noticed an arrow wound in his chest, near his heart… that Kito boy must have hit him spot on.
“Karl,” I replied, that was all I knew to say. “How did… you were with the strikers?” I asked, he sighed.
“Not always… I used to… used to just work with Reshick… but… but after Hans death, he gave me an offer.” I raised an eyebrow, “Help Abhik through the police force, and when all of this calmed down, I would be made Police Chief.”
“That’s terrible…”
“Yeah, well… I figured I’d do the job better than Krios ever did… both of ‘em.” I sighed, “I would have… would have had a spot for you, to do good.”
“I’m sure you would,” I frowned, “So then… it was you, who helped bomb the headquarters.”
“Yeah… they just gave me barrels, and I pushed them into place. Got out and… boom.”
“You betrayed your brothers, you… you’re not a real cop.” I replied, and he scowled.
“And you are… Kokoro?”
“…”
“I might be a fake, but atleast I embrace it, while you just… have these fantasies of what the world should be like… at least I have in in perspective, that if Abhik ruled, than Alrick wouldn’t.”
“So it’s all ideals to you?”
“Crest isn’t getting anything down, Vrook would be better as chairman, he’d take things back to the way they’re supposed to be… he’s going to do that.”
“Not if my friends stop him,” I replied, Karl smirked.
“Crest is a dead man… if not today, than tomorrow… definitely tomorrow.”
“They’re gonna try and kill him?”
“I should think, with all their brainwashed soldiers, they’ll try.”
“Then I’ll tell him, tell them what’ll happen.”
“All the good that’ll do… when the military and that council are dead… this city’s gonna have a new ruler, and it won’t be the white lotus.”
“And it won’t be Abhik.” I then replied, staring him in the eyes, “My friends will make sure of that.”
“Like that firebender out there… wears his heart on his fucking sleeve.” I frowned, even Karl knew Connor was unstable. He ten stared at me, “So… why are you still here?” he asked, coughing… what looked to be blood.
“As much as I abhor you… you were my friend once, and I don’t believe anybody should die alone.” Mog paused at that, eying me… surprised.
“that sounds very… kind of you.” He frowned, “You’re generation’s gonna be in trouble, if it’s filled with optimists like you.”
“Thank you.” I replied, sighing as I patted him on the hand. The man lied back, head looking up, and then… he was drifting off. “Goodbye, Karl.” And then he was dead. I pressed my fingers forward, to shut his eyes. I felt a tear slip down my cheek as I stood up.
I was silent, leaving the room. I looked to the side, seeing Connor standing there, he had a body bag, which I guessed more than likely was Kito. O’Mally was sitting at the ground, weeping silently.
“How long have you known him?”
“About since I got here, I met them on our mission to collect Sonya.”
“It’s tough… losing a member of your team.” Connor nodded, looking away.
“We’ll make them pay, make all of them pay.” I frowned, “Excluding… Angela and your mom.”
“Of course,” Connor sighed.
“Kito came from Republic City… I’d take him there but he told me he was an orphan.”
“So we let him go here.”
“Let him go?”
“Water tribe tradition dictates… they drift into the sea, body prepared… we don’t believe in tombstones.” Connor nodded, before looking into the room… noticing Karl’s body.
“What about him?”
“…He deserves less, I think he had family, he’ll be found by Kuan’s forces when they come in here.” Connor nodded. I looked into his eyes for a moment.
“Are you okay?”
“…” Connor turned, “Any luck in finding Kara?” I sighed,
“I found some footprints, but I was distracted by Karl.” Connor nodded, we looked to the footprints, following them until we reached a window… it was shattered. We looked out fearfully, before sighing, realizing there wasn’t any blood or a body at the bottom.
“She’s alive.”
“Alive and alone in this city.”

MEANWHILE
AIMEE POV

We were swiftly fighting off the strikers forces in the street… I was completely paranoid by the concept that my family was in trouble but I couldn’t do much for them. Aria was beside me as she kicked down and threw a firebender into a wall. I immediately blocked the fire as more formed, kicking her down into more snow.
“It’s like this town’s getting colder by the hour.” Aria scowled, hands at her shoulders. Before I could say anything, I felt the transceiver I had at my belt ringing, I pressed to my ear.
“This is Josa, Dai Minami and I got to the apartment… it’s not good.” I frowned, “They burned it down.”
“What?” I asked.
“It’s okay though, Hachiro and Rham managed to save our stuff… Rham’s a little pissy his building was burned down, but its fine… Rham’s driving us there with our things.”
“Okay… get here soon.” I replied, hanging up. Aria turned,
“I don’t like what I heard.”
“Neither do I.” I stated, “My dad, uncle cousin are fine but I don’t know about the others.” Aria scowled.
“I know, we send groups out to help them, but then we hear nothing.” It was then we looked to the side, seeing a group of people I recognized hurrying out of an alleyway, my eyes widened, staring to see my family with Ryuu leading them. It was then I noticed someone to the side, a few strikers and an archer attacking.
Aria pulled out her bow, quickly coming to Mika and Ryuu’s defense as I realized it was Nikta attacking us. She began to fire explosive arrows in our direction, which I quickly kicked up wind to block, as Aria dislodged more arrows towards her, using her metal bending to precisely aim the shot.
Mika immediately slapped her back with more water while two waterbending strikers attacked us. Ryuu swiftly shot lightening towards them, electrocuting them sharply. It was then Nikta fired an arrow to our feet, it detonated as we jumped away.
The four of us all aimed our bending towards her, firing it together in one foul swoop, Nikta at that moment tossed all her explosive arrows to the ground, stepping away and detonating them, creating a heavy blast which blocked our attacks briefly. Everyone coughed as dust and smoke entered the air…
I frowned, wiping my brow as the smoke dissipated, Nikta was gone, as were the other strikers. Aria turned, frowning.
“What the hell was that about?”
“Oh she…” My uncle Meme mumbled, “She was chasing us.” he panted, I smiled.
“Uncle Meme, you’re talking again.” He smiled, while the others were silent, Kana simply scowled, gripping ryuu’s cheek.
“This young man just comes running into my house telling us to leave, you should have seen it.” I eyed Ryuu, smirking.
“Is that true?”
“Unfortunately”- I swiftly pulled Ryuu in for a hug, casually kissing him on the cheek, Aria pouted.
“Thank you.”
“Oh,” Aria replied, “So you’ll show up to save Aimee’s family, but you can’t come to our apartment to say hi? How typical.” Ryuu smiled.
“Love you too, babe.” Aria smiled a little.
“Heard about how you got captured again… you must have done well to escape.”
“I think so.” I smiled, before looking to Mika and the others.
“Anyways I heard dad and Male are safe, so how did mom handle the trip through town?” It was then Mika frowned a little, and the other members of my family looked away.
“Um… well…” I eyed them again, before noticing something, Tooru was missing.
“Where’s Tooru? I thought he was with you.”
“He was… so was mom…” I turned, eyes wide. It was then Maka sighed, taking a few steps.
“I’m sorry about your mother and your friend Aimee… they got caught so we could get here.” My eyes widened at this… I didn’t know how take this in.
“…” Aria was eying me, as I looked away.
“Let’s… let’s go inside, I’m sure Crest can figure out living arrangements.” I stated, voice cracking.

MEANWHILE
TOORU POV

It was no use, we were captured. I was with Sirisha as bags were put over our heads, and we were taken into their base… I couldn’t see a thing, my hands were bound together, and Sirisha was exhausted.
Eventually we were taken to a room and knelt down. The bags were removed and we both looked to see a man with dirty blonde hair standing there and studying us. He wore blue clothing… I recognized him as Abhik Nishi… the guy who took Josa’s bending. Two guards stood beside us, watching us in case we did anything.
“You brought them to me… why?” Abhik asked.
“We um… thought you’d want them, for a bargaining chip against the Akira girl.” Abhik studied us, while Sirisha was silent, glaring towards him.
“She does look like her…”
“She has identification, a Sirisha Akira.”
“Oh… so her firenation mother, a traitor to her race.”
“Watch your tongue.” Sirisha spat, Abhik smiled.
“Aww and spunky, so that’s where Aimee gets it from… too bad you look a little old for my liking.” The woman dead eyed him, which scared me a little. “And the other one?”
“One Tooru Morita… one of Akira’s friends, a member of the task force.”
“Is that right?” Abhik replied, eying me, “…so earthbender, I presume?”
“…” I was silent, while the man sighed, stepping away.
“I don’t care, actually.” He turned, “Has Lady Sonya returned?”
“Yes sir, though no word on the Green Dragon.”
“That man likes to wander…” Abhik sighed, looking back to us. “As much as I do like bargaining chips, these ones look useless.”
“Sir?”
“When I envisioned controlling Akira, I imagined it’d be with your younger sister… but her mother? That’s just sloppy”-
“That’s big talk coming from you, Nishi.” I turned as Sirisha scowled, “Sounds like you’re trying to hurt my feelings.” Abhik frowned, swiftly slapping her across the face, it didn’t affect her at all. He turned.
“And the earthbender?”
“I don’t need him either, kill them both… show Akira I’m done fucking around.” Abhik replied, the guards were about to pull the bags back over our heads when Sirisha turned-
“TANYA SHIKI!” Abhik paused, turning,
“Say that again?”
“I said Tanya Shiki.” Sirisha whispered, eyes on Abhik. He glanced to the guards, swiftly ordering them out of the room.
“Now what was that, about Tanya?”
“Her maiden name is Gazu, that’s mine as well… I’m her older sister.”
“…” Abhik took that in, curiously… eying the woman.
“Her code name is Bobcat… I know that because Sifo Werrick told me.”
“You know about how he worked with us?”
“Kaleb and I were the only ones he trusted with that information. Tanya has two daughters, Angela and Kokoro, who go by Angel and Turtle duck.”
“You sure know your sister.”
“And I sure know that the moment I die is the moment she rebels.”
“…” Abhik nodded slowly, before looking to me, “Guess I can kill you though”-
“You can’t do that either,” Abhik turned, “He’s important to me, my younger daughter’s fiancé… so he’s important to Aimee.” She lied, my eyes widened.
“Mika’s supposed to be seventeen.”
“I know, we got them betrothed two years ago, waiting until she’s old enough… if you want a bargaining chip, me and my future son-in-law will be great.” Abhik blinked curiously at that, he could obviously tell Sirisha was desperate to save us both… he then gave in.
“Fine… but after Aimee dies I’ll kill you both.” He stepped away, snapping for guards to enter, “Take them to the cells, tomorrow morning I want them prepared for the broadcast.”
“Yes sir!”
“Broadcast?” I asked, curiously. I was walking beside Sirisha, eying her through part of the bag. “So what was that about calling you mom?”
“Like I said, this engagement can break off at any moment.”
“…Okay. But I gotta say that sounds really nice of your sister mam.” Sirisha rolled her eyes through the bag.
“I’m fairly certain if I die Tanya wouldn’t care in the least.”
“Well… okay then.”

MEANWHILE
PHANTOM POV

I walked into the hallway, Kokoro and her friends had left, and so I found myself walking through the hospital quietly. I finally found my way into a silent room, looking in to see Daq lying there, eying me.
“You didn’t leave?” I asked.
“Didn’t see any reason to.” I rolled my eyes.
“Had me worried… props to you for staying put.”
“Right, as usual you’ll come swinging by to save me.” I smiled, “Why’s your hood down?” I sighed.
“At this rate… there’s not much reason to keep up the disguise.” I got closer to him, he looked a little better, “She was here… Kara.”
“I know, she visited me.” My eyes widened at that, “I almost started crying.”
“The strikers are on the prowl… there gonna destroy everything, atleast until Maya comes in to destroy more.”
“…” Daq looked down. “you’re saying I should leave.”
“Atleast this room… I have a place I could hide you, until I get Kara back.”
“Well… it’s not like I need IV anymore.” He replied, sighing, “But the council needs me.”
“Do they really?” I asked, while the man slowly stood up, weakly.
“I have a job to do… and I think I’ve gone long enough not doing it.” I frowned a little at that, while he pulled the IV stick out of his arm. I smiled a little.
“Classic Daq… the only thing you love more than me is your job.” He smiled.
“Well if I could be fair, I have been doing my job longer than I have been in a relationship with you.” I smirked,
“Yeah but you knew me longer.” Sollus nodded a little. He then grabbed for a cane nearby… someone had brought it to him. “I’ll get you home, but really… you need to leave this place.” Daq frowned, “I’m serious, stay any longer… and Sonya will kill you.”
“…” he sighed, “Alright… if you want it so badly,” he sighed, looking up, “Where do you suggest I go?” I shrugged, smiling.
“I heard the South Pole is wonderful this time of year.”
“If by wonderful you mean horrifying ice-box, than yeah… it’s terrific.”

MEANWHILE
AIMEE POV

Inside we had found my father, cousin, and uncle Sifo there, quickly Malena hugged her brothers and Meme, before pausing on her mom. The woman simply eyed Sifo, scowling.
“Sifo…”
“Maka…” they eyed eachother silently, while our dad looked worried, realizing that mom wasn’t anywhere to be seen. We had explained to my dad what happened to mom, that she let herself get caught… along with Tooru. Mika was distraught, as was I…
“Siri just… let them do that?” Mika nodded.
“Yeah, she mentioned something about Abhik not killing her because she has a striker sister or something.” My dad paused at that, while I turned.
“Since when did mom have a sister?” Mika shrugged, while I patted her on the back, sighing, “I’m sorry about Tooru.”
“We’ll get him back…” Mika replied, sighing, “I’m sure of it.” Maka then sighed, looking down.
“I should have tried harder,” she turned, “Siri was incredible… I didn’t know she could fight like that.” I nodded a little.
“Now you know why I didn’t overtly tell her I was running away.” I sighed, “Mom’s gonna be fine… she can protect herself and Tooru will have nothing to worry about.” I glanced to the side, watching as the door opened, seeing Serena step in, she looked odd, wiping her brow like she was having a fever. Crest was in the room, sitting there and eying her curiously.
“I thought you were taking a sick day.”
“Yeah, well… when I heard what happened I just”- immediately Manu hurried over to her with a hug. “Geez Manu, you literally saw me this morning.” Manu grinned, simply kissing her. His mother looked away. Serena then eyed everyone, seeing their solemn expression. “What happened?”
“Abhik happened.” I replied, “Took my mom and Tooru.” Serena frowned at that, “Like I keep saying… we’ll get them back, I’m sure of it.” Serena nodded.
I felt like I was cracking, realizing my mom was taken by those psychopaths… the one person my relationship was still trouble around. Crest sat there, taking in the turn of events.
“At this rate… it sounds like Abhik will definitely try to hijack tomorrow’s meeting.”
“That’s a given,” my father replied, Sifo nodded.
“If I was Abhik… tomorrow would be the day to finally take control.”
“Just what Vrook would want,” Crest scowled, it was then we turned to the side, looking to see the doors open, Connor and Kokoro headed in, and guards around them.
“We… we…” Connor was breathing heavily, “There’s a problem!” he panted, Kokoro scowled.
“Abhik’s gonna try and kill the council tomorrow!” everyone stared, shocked, “Don’t why I know, I just do!”
“Who are you?” my dad quickly asked, I turned,
“Dad this is Kokoro, my friend, and that’s Connor.”
“Kokoro…” my dad sighed, “Small world.” Kokoro ignore that, stepping forward,
“We were at the hospital, Sonya attacked, and we learned about the assassination plot.” Connor nodded.
“It’s true,” he then paused, realizing how awkward it was to be here, weapons were still pointed on him.
“Aren’t you… the striker agent called Ghost?” Crest asked, Connor shrugged.
“Er yeah, but… but I’ve changed.” Kokoro nodded, Ryuu swiftly validated his wrods “I saved O’Mally! He’s waiting in the lobby!”
“…” Crest sighed, before ordering the guards away. “Great, so what… maybe I just cancel the meeting and hide here?”
“No,” Sifo replied, “Abhik will use it anyways, to attack.” Maka tunred.
“How do you know that?”
“…” Crest frowned, “Well I’m thinking… we can’t give into these demands… even if they intend to take over.”
“So we let them come and kill you?”
“No… no we need to figure out a way to deal with these strikers once and for all, and get your friends and family back… problem is, they have a new base which we can’t find.” Ryuu looked down, sighing.
“You know, I’ve been monitoring their radio chatter.” Everyone turned. “Problem is radio is limited, and they use towers to bounce the signal.” I noticed Aria smile a little, that her boyfriend was a nerd(her words not mine). “But if they intend to take the television signal… I doubt they have anything to bounce that off of, and instead they might be using a few proxies they installed in Khan’s network.”
“So we go to his network and find it?” Crest asked.
“That’d be impossible if we only have like sixteen hours until the broadcast.” Ryuu sighed, “But… when the signal does start, I could use some of my tech with a few extra pieces to track it… if I’m right, within maybe a few minutes I can definitely figure out where he’s broadcasting from…”
“Brilliant,” Crest replied, surprised. Kokoro smirked, eying Ryuu.
“I’m impressed, ‘Jack’.” Ryuu smiled. It was then I turned.
“When he finds the signal I’m going after it.” Everyone turned.
“You can’t be serious.”
“I’m an airbender, I can travel the quickest…” Mika nodded.
“She could use Yeti to look over the city.”
“No but…” Crest sighed, “You’re kind of expected to speak out against the strikers… maybe offer support for that assassination”-
“No,” I then replied, “My friends can do that.” Mika pouted a little.
“But if Abhik sees you’re not there… he’ll assume we’re onto him.” I paused.
“…Right,” I had no clue how to get around that, so it was then Serena sighed.
“If only we had someone who… sounded, and looked… and awfully lot like Aimee.” I slowly realized she was eying Malena, who shrugged.
“Yeah, that would be nice I suppose.” Everyone began to look straight at her, even her parents and Sifo. “…” she raised an eyebrow, “Why is everyone looking at me?”
I slowly began to smile… we were going to save Tooru and my mom... all because it became extremely convenient that my Aunt Maka cheated on my Uncle Meme.

And I was thankful nobody said it.

And then, the weirdest thing happened, the door opened one more time and we watched a woman my age walk in, having heard everything, guards surrounded her. Ryuu, Kokoro, and Connor's jaw dropped to the ground, seeing her standing here, as did many of ours.
"I'm going too." Crest scowled,
"And who the hell are you?"
"I'm the Avatar." she replied, huffing, "And you gotta deal with that."
This is a Fanfiction I wrote for the OC's of :iconardnemla: and :iconquackylu: And myself.

Okay, this is a REALLY jam packed chapter. Especially the bit at the end, I just wanted to straight up explain how they were going to stop Abhik while also being plausible... I realize it might have been really sloppy, but in my opinion the next two chapters are so important to this story, that we just need to get that out of the way.

Anyways, we got four massive moments to talk about.

Tooru and Mika finally kissed. I was originally going to have Mika get captured, but I realized how much I had that happen, and I realized I wanted Tooru and Mika to kiss, but one of them needed to be captured. So I realized Aimee's mom would also be perfect to be captured because we could allude to Tanya.

Next we have Kito's death... when I started this story, I pretty much wrote myself into a corner with how many characters there are, so I took a page out of game of throne's book, and I'm killing some of them. originally O'Mally was supposed to die, but I realized since this story has too many water tribe characters, that it'd be better if it was Kito, and then we finally learn O'Mally's first name, Ethan. I really loved that scene.

Next we have Karl Mog's death, and I straight up wanted to kill him. It was always my plan to have him betray Kokoro, so this was a great way to do it, and give Kito a great heroic death. And we can sort of agree a little bit with Karl, in how he viewed Yuri.

And finally we have Sonya's fight with Mona... it was epic and it was personal, naturally Mona won by hurting Sonya emotionally, but then we see just how lost Mona is, living for other people... this is really important.

Also sorry that Aimee isn't that sad, but since I needed things to move along quickly, she doesn't get time for a grief period, instead she's getting mad. We also get a brief RyuuxAria scene where they're just cute together and Aria gets a little jealous of Aimee kissing him on the cheek.

I just think the scene at the end is hilarious, how every character that's good, is there and has to deal with eachother... I just find it humorous, especially with how distracted they are.

I also love seeing Tooru around Sirisha, and just seeing them joke around.

Anyways as for information on the next chapters, I'm expecting them both to be roughly 2-3 parts long since they are very important with big moments.

Chapter 39 will revolve around the final assault against the strikers, with epic battles we've been waiting a long time for, that's right...

RYUU AND SHIRO WILL FINALLY HAVE THEIR EPIC FIGHT!
